Q. How important is website content as opposed to the look of a website?

Content is obviously very important. You can have the best looking website in the world, but if it doesn't offer people what they need in terms of content then they will quickly lose interest. Likewise, poorly written content, with typos and grammatical errors will not create a very good impression of your business.

Content is also important if you want to achieve good rankings in the major search engines, as the search engines see content as a very important factor when deciding where a website should be positioned in their search results.

Q. What is meant by website functionality?

Functionality is best described as what a website "does". Some websites will have little or no functionality - for example, a brochure style website which is designed just to tell people about your company, describe the kind of services you offer, and tell people how to contact you.

Other websites may have lots of functionality. For example, the functionality in an e-commerce website will include things like: a system to automatically update the product catalogue, the shopping basket, taking credit card payments, a sales reporting module, and maybe customer registration.
